Ethics Committee
Update: October 22, 2025
Purpose
- The Ethics Committee, as an advisory body to the President, shall deliberate on ethical guidelines consistent with the founding principles of the Society when conducting Society activities and operations.
- Based on 1., it enhances ethical sensitivity among Society members and promotes ethical practices.
Activities
- It convenes committee members possessing specialized knowledge, including non-members with academic expertise (external members), to deliberate on ethical matters concerning members, Society activities, Society operations, and other necessary ethical issues.
- Based on 1., it undertakes public interest projects that enhance ethical sensitivity among Society members and promote ethical practices.
<Recent Activities>
2019: Conducted external peer review of the “Recommendations on the Decision-Making Process for Initiating and Continuing Dialysis.”
2020: Drafted the “Statement of the Japan Academy of Nephrology Nursing on Decision Support for Renal Replacement Therapy” and submitted it to the Board of Directors.
2020: Reviewed ethical considerations for the Society's “Emergency Survey on COVID-19 Countermeasures.”
